What is NCJETS?

Founded in 2003, North Carolina Junior Engineering and Technology Society (NCJETS) is an exciting program sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Lee College of Engineering Department of Engineering Technology. The program provides a variety of fun and interactive activities that help hundreds of middle and high school students from seven counties in the Charlotte metropolitan region learn about the profession of engineering. Lee College of Engineering students, some of whom participated in the NCJETS club at their high school, provide mentoring and coaching to NCJETS participants.

NCJETS offers a variety of activities, including competitions that allow students to demonstrate their technological prowess and give winners bragging rights! For example, teams students compete in trebuchet and robotics design competitions and the national TEAM+S science and math competition. NCJETS allows students the opportunity to explore the fields of engineering and engineering technology in a fun, supportive environment of friendly competition.
